Poland vs Argentina FIFA World Cup Live Score 30/11/2022
Captain Lionel Messi will be playing at the show-piece event for the fifth time, and this could probably his last dance on the grandest stage. The 35-year-old superstar will attempt to capture the sport’s most coveted prize and his Argentina national team are on board for it. The squad appears to be united under coach Lionel Scaloni as Messi and co are especially doing well in the offensive third. Since Scaloni has taken charge of the side, the Albiceleste have lost just 5 times. Messi helped Argentina win the 2021 Copa America, breezed through World Cup qualification for Qatar, and then defeated European champions Italy in the Finalissima, ending their 28-year drought for the significant trophy.
The team now has a 35-game streak of victories in competitive games. In all probability, the Latin American side look like a strong contender, especially after what looks to be a potentially favorable draw and path to the final in Qatar. Scaloni has not experimented much with the squad since taking charge and Argentina should not have many surprise inclusion in the first team. The starting XI will surely be built around their superstar Messi, while the front three should consist of Lautaro Martinez up top with Angel Di Maria and Giovani Lo Celso playing out wide. The midfield pivot is expected to feature Leandro Paredes and Rodrigo De Paul. The backline should see Emiliano Martinez taking charge of the goal post, while a formidable center-back pairing of Nicolas Otamendi and Cristian Romero are expected to be flanked by Nahuel Molina and Nicolas Tagliafico. Lisandro Martinez has been named in Argentina’s squad for the 2022 World Cup finals.
The Manchester United defender has been a revelation since arriving in the summer from Ajax and quickly endeared himself to the club’s supporters with his whole-hearted approach and excellent passing range. It comes as no great surprise that he is in coach Lionel Scaloni’s 26-man group for the big tournament in Qatar, and he will link up with his international colleagues after Sunday’s Premier League contest at Fulham. Martinez came on as a late substitute in the 4-2 win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night and will be in contention to return to the starting line-up at Craven Cottage, as the Reds seek to end this part of the season on a high in the capital. Unfortunately, this tournament came too soon for 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho, who has represented the Albiceleste at Under-20 level.
Argentina are one of the favourites to lift the trophy, bidding to repeat their success in 1978 and 1986. Emiliano Martinez, Geronimo Rulli, Franco Armani; Nahuel Molina, Gonzalo Montiel, Cristian Romero, German Pezzella, Nicolas Otamendi, Lisandro Martinez, Marcos Acuna, Nicolas Tagliafico; Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Paredes, Alexis Mac Allister, Guido Rodriguez, Alejandro Gomez, Enzo Fernandez, Exequiel Palacios; Angel Di Maria, Lautaro Martinez, Julian Alvarez, Nicolas Gonzalez, Joaquin Correa, Paulo Dybala, Lionel Messi.
A 26-man roster for the World Cup in Qatar, which runs from November 20 to December 18, led by Lionel Messi, was announced on Friday by Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni. Forward Paulo Dybala, who is injured, made the cut despite not having played for his club Roma since early October. Dybala has been selected in the team as Argentina hopes he can get back in shape before their World Cup campaign kicks off on November 22 against Group C rival Saudi Arabia. Argentina are also scheduled to play Mexico and Poland in Group C after they face Saudi Arabia in their campaign opener. “They are proud to be called up and wear this jersey, let’s hope that you as fans are too. All together,” coach Scaloni said in an Instagram video as quoted by ESPN.The talismanic striker who plays for Paris Saint German (PSG) will want to repeat the heroics of Copa America 2021, where they lifted the coveted trophy.
Earlier, Spain announced their World Cup squad that does not feature veteran defender Sergio Ramos. The PSG player ran out of favour of the Spanish coach and couldn’t make the cut to be in the team. Sadio Mane who was speculated to miss out due to an injury has made it to the Senegal World Cup squad. Qatar will host the World Cup from November 20 to December 18, 2022. After the event in South Korea and Japan in 2002, this will be the second World Cup exclusively held in Asia and the first World Cup ever to be contested in the Arab world.
