Barcelona VS Levante Reddit Score 10/04/2022
Barcelona will be looking to make it seven La Liga wins in a row when they resume their domestic campaign away to a struggling Levante side on Sunday night. The Catalan outfit are currently second in the table, 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid, while Levante occupy 19th position, six points from the safety of 17th spot with eight games left. Levante are currently playing in their fifth straight season at this level of football, while they have only dropped out of the top flight for one campaign since 2010, so it would be a surprise if the team were relegated this term.
The Frogs are currently battling for their lives in the bottom three, sitting 19th, level on points with 20th-placed Alaves and six points behind 17th-placed Cadiz on the same number of matches (30). Levante will enter this weekend’s game off the back of a huge 2-0 victory over Villarreal, with Jose Luis Morales scoring a brace in the contest at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia. Alessio Lisci’s side still have a lot of work to do to escape the relegation zone, though, and they have some touch matches before the end of the season, facing Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid in the coming weeks.
Levante have the third-worst home record in La Liga this season, meanwhile, picking up just 16 points from their 15 matches in front of their own fans, but they held Barcelona to a 3-3 draw in the corresponding match between the two sides last term. Barcelona, meanwhile, will enter the match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday evening, with Ferran Torres on the scoresheet in the 66th minute after Ansgar Knauff had made the breakthrough.
The Catalan outfit will fancy their chances of finishing the job at Camp Nou next week, while they have won each of their last six in La Liga, including successes over Real Madrid and Sevilla in their last two. Barcelona are actually unbeaten in Spain’s top flight since the start of December, and the excellent run of form has seen them rise into second spot in the table, level on points (57) with third-placed Atletico Madrid and fourth-placed Sevilla, with a game in hand on both.
Xavi’s side are still 12 points behind league leaders Real Madrid, though, and it is very difficult to imagine Los Blancos dropping that many points between now and the end of the campaign, so the runners-up spot is the realistic target for the club this term. Blaugrana beat Levante 3-0 in the reverse match between the two sides back in September, while they have the second-best away record in La Liga this term. That said, the 26-time Spanish champions have dropped points in nine of their 15 league matches on their travels in 2021-22.
Although Barcelona has been on a tear in the last few months and they are currently on a six-game winning streak, it’s fair to say that Levante has done well lately since they finally managed to get up from the last place in which they were the entire season. Levante is still in the relegation zone and likely to lose this game, but we can see them scoring in this game, as well as Barcelona. After all, both teams scored in three of the last five h2h duels between these teams. Ever since he arrived from Arsenal on a free transfer, Aubameyang has looked like a new man. So far, the striker managed to find the net seven times in eight league games for Blaugrana.
With that in mind, we can see his hot streak continuing against Levante, especially since Levante concedes nearly two goals per game. So, Barcelona is bound to score multiple times here and Aubameyan should net at least one goal. After spending most of the season in the last place in the standings and struggling to win any games, Levante finally rose up from the dead in the past month or so and now they still have a chance to survive. At the moment, Levante is six points behind the first team outside of the relegation zone with eight rounds left in the season, so those chances are slim, but their fans are certainly not losing hope.
Barcelona will travel to Estadio Ciutat de Valencia this Sunday night as they gear up to take on UD Levante in Matchweek 31 of the 2021/22 La Liga, hoping to continue their unbeaten run. Following their narrow 1-0 victory over Sevilla last weekend, Barcelona are undefeated in their last 14 La Liga encounters. While they had moved to the second spot, Los Nervionenses’ 4-2 win over Granada on Saturday has meant that the Catalans have slipped to third. Xavi Hernandez’s side, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League in midweek, will be aiming to return to winning ways and reclaim the second spot.
Meanwhile, Levante find themselves mired in the relegation battle as they sit second from the bottom, having collected just 22 points from 30 games. The Granotas are seven points away from safety and look doomed to end up in La Liga 2. However, they secured a shock 2-0 win over Villarreal last time out at home. And manager Alessio Lisci will hope that his players can repeat the trick this weekend when Barcelona come visiting.
Levante will be without the services of Carlos Clerc, Martin Caceres, Jorge De Frutos and Shkodran Mustafi, all of whom miss out due to injuries. The hosts will line up in a 5-3-2 formation and look to defend deep and frustrate Barcelona while trying to hit them on the counterattack.
25-year-old Dani Cardenas will guard the goal for Levante, while Rober Pier, Sergio Postigo and Ruben Vezo line up as the three centre-halves in front of him. Marcelo Saracchi and Jorge Miramon should start in the full-backs slots. The pair will be expected to stay compact for the most part but will have the license to spring forward when Levante try to hit Barcelona on the break.
Pepelu and Nemanja Radoja will anchor the midfield for Levante and look to keep their Barcelona counterparts quiet over the course of the game. Gonzalo Melero should take up the third slot in the centre of the park and look to provide the forward thrust when Levante are in possession.
Club captain Jose Luis Morales, who scored twice in the win against Villarreal, will spearhead the attack for Levante. He will be partnered with 31-year-old Roger Marti, who has five La Liga goals this season.
